Insights–Journal of Life and Social Sciences (IJLSS)

About the Journal

The Insights–Journal of Life and Social Sciences (IJLSS) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by Health and Research Insights. Established in January 2023, the journal provides a multidisciplinary platform for researchers, academics and professionals to publish original and methodologically sound research in the life and social sciences.

IJLSS publishes research concerning biological systems, human behaviour, public health, social structures, environmental conditions and societal development. The journal particularly encourages studies that address contemporary challenges, contribute to scientific knowledge and have relevance for policy, professional practice or community development.

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment for relevance, originality, ethical compliance and conformity with the journal’s requirements. Manuscripts that meet the preliminary criteria are evaluated through a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from one another.

The journal is committed to maintaining editorial independence, academic integrity, transparency and responsible publishing practices. Its editorial and publication policies are informed by internationally recognised principles and frameworks, including:

  • Committee on Publication Ethics core practices;
  • International Committee of Medical Journal Editors recommendations;
  • Budapest Open Access Initiative principles;
  • Creative Commons licensing;
  • Vancouver referencing style;
  • Ethical requirements for research involving human participants or animals;
  • Authorship and contributorship standards;
  • Conflict-of-interest disclosure;
  • Research-data transparency; and
  • Procedures for corrections, retractions, complaints, appeals and publication misconduct.

Reference to these frameworks indicates that the journal follows their relevant principles and does not imply formal membership or accreditation unless specifically stated.

IJLSS welcomes submissions from both emerging and established scholars. The journal aims to promote critical inquiry, interdisciplinary collaboration and responsible dissemination of research. It seeks to support research that improves understanding of complex biological, behavioural and social issues and contributes to evidence-informed decision-making.

The journal operates under an open-access model. All published articles are freely available online without subscription charges to readers. This supports wider access to scholarly knowledge and facilitates the dissemination of research findings among academics, professionals, policymakers, students and the public.

IJLSS maintains a transparent article-processing and publication-fee policy. Details of applicable charges, payment procedures, exemptions and waivers are provided separately on the journal website. Publication decisions are based on editorial assessment and peer-review outcomes and are not influenced by the payment of publication fees.
